Thank you for choosing BRAVO NOTARY SERVICES for remote notarization (remote commissioning).
This Engagement Letter outlines the terms, responsibilities, and limitations associated with online notarization.
By scheduling or participating in a remote notarization session, you agree to the following:

  1. Scope of Services

BRAVO NOTARY SERVICES provides remote notarization in accordance with Ontario’s Commissioning and Notarization Requirements and the Law Society of Ontario (LSO) guidelines.
The service includes:

  • Identity verification
  • Review of documents for notarization
  • Remote witnessing of your signature
  • Issuance of a digital notarized document (PDF)

This service does not include legal advice or any paralegal/legal representation.

  1. Fees

Remote Notarization Fee: From $40 per document

  • Additional Documents: Discounted rates may apply
  • Platform or video-call fees: Included
  • Re-appointment due to client-side technical failure: Additional fee may apply

  1. Cancellation Policy
  • More than 24 hours before appointment: No fee
  • Within 24 hours: $25 cancellation fee
  • Within 12 hours or missed appointment: Full fee applies
  • If the session cannot proceed due to incomplete ID, unreadable documents, or client-side technical issues: → The notary may consider this a late cancellation and apply the corresponding fee.
  1. Identity Verification Requirements

To comply with LSO rules, you must provide:

  • A valid government-issued photo ID
  • A clear, real-time video image of yourself
  • Your signature during the live session

The notary will record relevant identification details as required by law.

  1. Signing Procedure and Handling of Errors
  • You must sign the document during the live video call, in full view of the notary.
  • If signing fails (technical issues, incorrect document, loss of connection):
    • The session may be rescheduled
    • Additional fees may apply if the notary must restart the process
  • Documents cannot be pre-signed before the session.
  1. Limitations of Notary Responsibility

BRAVO NOTARY SERVICES is responsible only for:

  • Verifying your identity
  • Witnessing your signature
  • Completing and attaching the notarial seal and certificate

We are not responsible for:

  • The legal validity or enforceability of the document
  • The accuracy or content of the document
  • Consequences arising from the use of the notarized document
  • Rejection of the document by third parties (government, banks, employers, etc.)
  1. Record-Keeping & Privacy
  • Records are kept securely for the period required by the LSO
  • Information is used solely for regulatory and compliance purposes
  • Video recordings of the session are not stored unless legally required
  • Your documents will not be shared with any third party unless required by law
  1. Client Acknowledgment

By proceeding with remote notarization, you confirm:

  • You understand the limitations of remote notarization
  • All information and documents you provide are true and accurate
  • You consent to electronic communication and digital notarization
  • You agree to the terms outlined in this Engagement Letter
  • You understand that the acceptance of documents notarized remotely by the receiving party is solely your responsibility
